(Sinaola, Mexico - years earlier) Teresa exchanges money on the street when she meets drug runners Guero, Brenda and Chino; Teresa is threatened by her boss who accuses her of flirting with Guero which Guero catches sight of.

Brenda and Teresa head to the dance floor; a guy grabs Teresa and begins to dance with her, Guero catches sights and leaves his dance partner and pulls her away to dance.
