Two garbage collectors stop in a residential area to collect the trash during the night.
Jack lays down in the rubbish, bleeding. The garbage guys take his money-filled rucksack, but they discard the Ludovico-drawn comic book. On the opening page of the comic book, Jack discovers the dedication Ludovico gave him before he passes away.
After robbing the bar of money, the man is fleeing on a motorbike. After tumbling from the motorcycle, he keeps fleeing on foot.
The bar staff is going over security camera video in an attempt to identify the man who took the money.
Ludovico is informed by the plumbers who are entering and inspecting his apartment that they are looking for a leak.
While puffing on a joint, Jack recounts Ludovico the tale of his life and the impact his brother had on it.
Buzzetti enters Ludovico's flat and acts as though he is checking for a gas leak.
